Admission Requirements
An undergraduate or graduate training or research intern:
- is enrolled in a program of study at another university (or higher education institution) and is admitted to the Université de Montréal (UdeM) for training or research in order to fulfill specific requirements of their program of study or to further their knowledge;
- must be invited by a UdeM faculty member or researcher;
- is not registered as a student at UdeM.
Students enrolled in a regular program at UdeM are not eligible for training or research intern status.
A student with a university degree:
- may register as a training or research intern at UdeM at the latest six months after completing their last degree;
- must have been admitted to a program at UdeM for an upcoming session.
Note: A student must meet both conditions to be admissible as a training or research intern. After the above-mentioned deadline, the student will have to register as a special (interest-only) student.
International students
International students who are on exchange programs or who are come under bilateral agreements managed by UdeM international should not apply for training or research intern status, as this would not give them any additional benefits.
Students are asked to consult the UdeM international website to check whether there is a partnership agreement between their home university and UdeM.
The files of international students who come as part of an approved exchange program are managed by the UdeM international student mobility team.
