Scolarships for international students

At the graduate studies level, scholarships are offered by Université de Montréal, by several government and para-government agencies as well as by companies and private foundations.

As an international student, you may obtain financial support in the form of scholarships offered by UdeM and by various Quebec, Canadian and international agencies. International students are also entitled to the scholarships granted by the Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies except for those dedicated to Canadian applicants.

It is highly recommended that you refer to the scholarship list, published annually by the Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies. On this list, you will find several scholarships appropriate for your needs. You can also apply to obtain an additional fee waiver.

UdeM Exemption Scholarship for International Students

The University of Montréal created a tuition fees exemption scholarship program that waives supplemental tuition fees requested from international students.

More details on that scholarship are available on the Registrar’s web site as well as on the Admission and Recruitment Service web site.

These scholarships are granted to international students and researchers who have been preselected by a Quebec university and who wish to start or pursue studies or research activities in the Province of Quebec. Procedures and application form.

Student's Mobility

UdeM’s internationalization goes through students’ mobility and flow of knowledge. This is why UdeM has several agreements (bilateral and multilateral) with European, African, Asian, North American, and South American Universities. Thus, students from all over the world can participate in students exchange programs with UdeM.
